'little man' Available on DVD
'little man,' a documentary film directed by Good Beginnings Board Member Nicole Conn, debuted on Showtime in May and was met with a deeply moved, enthusiastic and heartfelt audience.
Nicole was honored in January 2006 at the Courageous Beginnings Awards for her celebrated documentary. Shot at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center NICU, "little man" follows the birth and hospitalization of Nicole's son Nicholas, a micro-preemie born 100 days too soon.
This incredible film, recipient of twelve Best Documentary honors, not only presents the "real deal" about life in the NICU, but also celebrates the love of family.
"Twinkle Little Star" Naming Initiative
As part of the renovation of the Good Beginnings Library, a very special mural has been commissioned to adorn the ceiling of the room. Depicting the moon and the stars, families will be able to purchase a beautifully painted star and have it inscribed with the name of their child.
One hundred percent of all funds raised by the "Twinkle Little Star" initiative will go to support Good Beginnings and the good work of the NICU. The lovely night sky will feature five different star types, ranging in size and price from $500 for a sapphire star up to $3,500 for a shooting star. In addition, there are special hand-holding stars reserved for twins. Each hand-painted star is available for purchase by families who would like to name it in honor of or in memory of a child. This unique naming opportunity is limited by the size of the room, so stars will be sold on a first-come-first-served basis. Families who are interested should contact Linda Rosenberg at (310) 423-6389 or click here for a printable order form.
